Tanya Bryhn’s best tips for brows that stay in place all evening (and all night, if things get a little out of hand)
The holiday season is here. There’s glitter on our clothes, plans filling up the calendar and photos suddenly being taken from every possible angle. And in the middle of all this, there’s one thing we want perfectly in place: our brows.
Brows frame the face, lift the eyes and do more for your look than you might want to admit. That’s why Tanya Bryhn shares her best and easiest tips for party brows that work just as well for holiday dinners as for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
1. Shape and structure first
A great brow look always starts with shape. Before thinking about products, make sure your brows are clean, dry and brushed into place.
If you have hairs growing slightly outside your natural brow shape, gently remove what’s clearly out of bounds. Don’t go bananas. Your brows should still be brows, not lines.
Then brush your brows upward and outward so you can see how they naturally fall before styling.
2. Add volume and hold
Once the shape is set, it’s time for styling. Use Brow Styling Wax to shape your brows in the desired direction and give them a laminated look in 1–2–3.
Work the product well into the brows with a brush and gently press the hairs into place. This gives both volume and hold.
Tip: Use less product than you think. You can always build more.
3. Fill where needed (but only at the ends)
If you have small gaps in your brows, especially toward the tail, you can use a brow pen or pencil to fill in where it’s needed.
Important rule: Don’t use pencil across the entire brow.
Focus only on the outer part, where brows are naturally a bit sparser. This adds definition without making brows look drawn on.
Always choose a shade that matches your natural brow color and use light, short strokes. We’re going for “fuller”, not “new brow identity”.
4. Finish with brow mascara
The final step is brow mascara. It brings the hairs together, fills in the last small gaps and gives the brows an even finish.
Even full brows benefit from a little extra definition. Again, stick to a natural shade and lightly work the product through the brows. Our brow mascara comes in three different shades, making it easy to find one that suits most people.
